At The Breastfeeding Center of Pittsburgh, we are committed to working with you to ensure the health of your child. Our pediatricians (board certified in both pediatrics and lactation) and additional lactation consultants work closely together to make sure all your needs are met. At every visit, a pediatrician will meet with you and your child, discuss any problems/issues you may be having, and perform a thorough physical exam of your child. If you would like, an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) will work through a feeding with you to help evaluate and correct any problems with latching, positioning, etc. We then work with you to develop a plan to ensure continued success. We are available to continue working with you at follow-up visits as long as necessary to make you confident and comfortable that nursing is going well and your child is thriving. We also send a report to your child's health care provider, to keep them up to date on your child's progress.

We are available to work with you on any issue related to breastfeeding, from general breastfeeding basics and assistance, latching difficulties, problems with low milk supply or engorgement, mastitis/infections and plugged milk ducts, issues around supplementing or returning to work or weaning, or any of the other countless things you might have questions about. In addition, we offer a full line of quality Medela pumps (for rent or sale) and nursing accessories, to help you meet your breastfeeding goals.
